        syntax.
        
Step 1: patch -Ep0 < eggdrop1.4.0-1.4.1.patch
          (this will apply the patch file _properly_)

Step 2: mv eggdrop1.4.0 eggdrop1.4.1
          (this step isn't required, but you are using 1.4.1 now)

Once you are done these three steps, you compile eggdrop v1.4.1 like normal.
