Step 1: patch -p1 < eggdrop1.6.10-1.6.12.patch
          (this will patch eggdrop1.6.10 properly)

Step 2: mv eggdrop1.6.10 eggdrop1.6.12
          (this isn't really needed, but you are using 1.6.12 now)

Once you have done these steps, compile eggdrop1.6.12 like normal.
