Step 1: patch -p1 < eggdrop1.6.17-1.6.18.patch
          (this will patch eggdrop1.6.17 properly)

Step 2: mv eggdrop1.6.17 eggdrop1.6.18
          (this isn't really needed, but you are using 1.6.18 now)

Once you have done these steps, compile eggdrop1.6.18 like normal.
